So much so, that Liberatum and Istanbul ’74 in association with AnOther magazine, hosted another edition of the prestigious art, design, fashion, film, literature and architectural festival this year on May 27 – 29th in Istanbul. This well respected festival attracts many visitors from all around the world to Turkey hotels for its duration. The festival brings together some of the world’s most talented exponents of art in all its guises to create ‘a dynamic arts diplomacy programme in the world and to forge greater cultural relations between Turkey and the international arts community’.
The festival features leading cultural personalities from around the world. This year, participants included Courtney Love, Terry Gilliam, Michael Stipe, Kirsten Dunst and the British film director, Sam Taylor – Wood amongst others. Events took place in the Vakko Cultural and Fashion Centre, the Pera Museum and the Istanbul Modern Museum and the exhibitions, film screenings, Q and A Sessions and readings were aimed to stimulate conversation and engage audiences.
