January 27th, 2010

Remember the glory days of West Coast rap in the mid 90′s? Everyone knows how to keep a record of West Coast rap has never gone anywhere, but has not reached a level where it was when it turns on the radio without listening to Tupac, Nate Dogg, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog and more. It is undoubtedly a “gangsta rap” was born, once a model for anyone to say (you cannot soak your feet in the delicate topic, but you have to give credit here that Tupac and Dre) by East Coast rapper. This is a switch that, through the 80 most often it was from west to east, following the example. However, not all gangsta genres, we saw an increase of more poppy poets inspired by the likes of P-Funk, and Latinos are for the game as a popular artist like Cypress Hill.

Last stage 90 and the report in 2000 had been largely re-emerging on the east coast and dirty south. ” Will we see “the rise in the West again,” the territory of which the levels of popularity, though in the 90s? Well MP3 and could have killed the kind of domination that we used to see in all genres, but there is certainly a slight increase and password here are some names you will probably hear very soon (if you have not already). Hussle Nippsy cannot be called as a rookie, but has been named the magazine XXL Freshman 09 back in the top ten has published a fine, if not known, including the Bullets Is not got album No Name, Part 1, 2 and 3, and has appeared in collaboration with Snoop Dogg and Drake. He had a series of individual maps and create a striking element of “Myself Feelin ‘.” They say that feels more unique style, very quickly and it will be bigger than ever.

Dijon Thames Shariff that Mann is from west to Los Angeles and we had music in his hands Steve Lobel in action, which was then part of the management team of Sean Kingston. “More” has received mostly positive critical and apparently not just do things. It was signed by Epic in a short time, a series of singles, so they can keep Mann on her. Search for the release of his debut album, “Mann World” coming soon. Buzz up will be enormous, and he said that Mann describes as a mix of Chronic 2001, and completion of … you cannot go wrong with the mix we think. Bryan King is one of the new names in the scene. Coming from CA, but currently in China, has begun some heads with his single “foreign” with water ice Stumik Raekwon of Wu-Tang and French Phenom Proff. Proff has much to say about his protege: “Be prepared to listen and watch Bryan King in the mainstream media sites and their voice and relaxed charm will dazzle music fans worldwide.” The current king: Black Box Records could soon follow the star of West Coast rap, if the search of their first album soon.

West Coast Rap 2011

January 26th, 2010

Remember the glory days of West Coast Rap back in the mid 90′s? Anyone keeping track knows West Coast Rap never really went anywhere but hasn’t hit the levels it was at when you couldn’t turn on a radio without hearing Tupac, Nate Dogg, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog and more. It is arguably where “gangsta rap” was born, soon to be imitated some would say (we might be dipping our toes into a touchy subject, but you have to give Tupac and Dre credit here we think) by the east coast rappers. This is a switch where through the 80′s more times than not it was the west following the east’s lead. Anyway, it wasn’t all the gangsta genre, you saw the rise of more poppy rhymers inspired by the likes of P-Funk, and Latinos got into the game as well with popular artists like Cypress Hill. By the late 90′s and into the 2000′s the rap scene was taken over again in large part by the east coast and the emerging “dirty south.” Are we going to see the “West rise again” to the popularity levels the area saw in the 90′s? Well MP3 and downloads might have killed the type of dominance we used to see in any genre, but there is definitely an uptick going on and here are some of the names you will probably be hearing about real soon (if you haven’t already).

Nippsy Hussle can’t be called a freshman anymore, but he was named to XXL Magazine’s Freshman Top Ten back in 09. He’s released some great, if not well-known, albums since including Bullets Ain’t Got No Name Volumes 1, 2 and 3, and he’s appeared in collaborations with Snoop Dogg and Drake. He’s had several singles make the charts including an impressive piece, “Feelin Myself.” Rumor has it you’ll be hearing more of his unique style real soon, and it’s going to be bigger than ever. Dijon Thames Shariff, aka Mann is coming from west L.A. and got some of his music into the capable hands of Steve Lobel, who was then part of Sean Kingston’s management team. “Jerkin” got some criticism and mostly positive apparently because soon they were getting things done.

He was signed with Epic for a brief time for a series of single releases, after leaving them Mann kept at it. Look for the release of his debut album, “Mann’s World” coming out soon. The buzz around it says it’s going to be huge and Mann describes it as a mix between Chronic 2001 and Graduation… you can’t really go wrong with that mix we think. Bryan King is one of the newest names on the scene. Coming from CA but currently in China, he’s already started turning some heads with his single “Overseas” with Stumik of Wu-Tang Raekwon’s Icewater and French phenom Proff. Proff has a lot to say about his protege; “Be ready to hear and see Bryan King on major scenes and media outlets. His voice and laid-back charm will dazzle music lovers all around the world.” King is now with Black Box records and may soon follow the tracks of the West Coast rap stars so look for his debut album real soon.
